Our green building
To realize our environmental ideals and reflect the company’s image better, we have built a green building with positive energy thanks to its 1900m² of photovoltaic panels. The structure is made of untreated local wood; the insulation is realized via straw filled boxes, with straw cultivated in the south of France. Everything has been thought to reduce at best the environmental impact during the building. In addition the building allows us to minimize our electricity needs: south- facing offices benefit from natural light and warmth; water sanitation is heated by solar panels; a geothermal heat pump coupled with a double – flow ventilation enables air conditioning almost without using electricity.
Rainwater is collected to fill a pond which also allows us to water all our ornamental plants. Indeed, we are achieving a demonstration garden all around our building with different varieties of trees and plants. A beautiful green space, which will stimulate local biodiversity.
Thus, little by little we are building a pleasant and healthy workplace (use of noble materials, chemical-free, indoor air renewal). But, as efficient: this building is an extraordinary industrial work tool. It includes a lab, two storage rooms at a stable temperature, a reserved area for machinery, bright and spacious offices, and always more efficient processes freezing, debacterization, vacuum packaging).
Total amount of the operation: 5.2 million Euros, 2.8 million for the construction and 1.5 millions for solar panels.
