L’Herbier du Diois has always collaborated and supported small producers and this in several ways:
- Technical and organizational advice, thanks to our experience in this field. Within l'Herbier, one person is in charge of all the technical advice in France and another person handles all the international advice.
- Help for the planting, the harvesting and the maintenance.
- Commitment via annual and multiannual contracts.
We encourage producers to diversify their crops, by stimulating all kinds of production: flowers, whole plants, roots. This allows on the one hand to have a very wide range of crops. Denying the ease of a single model, and also underpinning risks and working throughout the year.
We are willing to support annual crops (coriander, fennel, and cornflower) but also perennials (lavender, thyme, blackcurrants) that can put up to 5 years before being harvested. We control these two ways of working by establishing strategies of collaboration.
